About Our Church
Sharing God's love, serving our community, and growing together in faith since 1907.
Our Heritage
Welcome to the Stroudsburg Seventh-day Adventist Church! Our community was founded in the summer of 1907, and we have been privileged to serve families throughout the Stroudsburg and broader Monroe County area ever since.
We are a community of Christ-loving individuals who are anchored in the power of prayer, the systematic study of God's Word, and a shared anticipation of the second coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. From children's programs to senior fellowship circles, our various ministries are entirely geared toward creating a welcoming, supportive environment where everyone is valued, respected, and guided into a deep relationship with the Savior.
Our Pastoral Leadership
Our congregation is led by Dr. Christian Eugene Ekoto, a dedicated Christian educator and pastor who has served the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church since September 2007. Born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Dr. Ekoto earned his Bachelor’s in Theology from Valley View University in Ghana, later obtaining his Master’s and Ph.D. in Education from the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) in the Philippines.
Before coming to the USA to serve as the Senior Pastor for the Stroudsburg District within the Pennsylvania Conference, Dr. Ekoto functioned as a church pastor, school chaplain, and university professor, serving as Vice President for Academic Administration at the Adventist University of Haiti. He has organized and spoken at over 70 theological and leadership events globally.
Dr. Ekoto shares his lifelong ministry goal of Christlikeness with his wife, Michelle Ekoto, a seasoned university faculty member, nutritionist, and dietician holding a Master of Public Health from AIIAS.
Part of a Worldwide Family
The Stroudsburg Seventh-day Adventist Church is part of a global mainstream Protestant family counting over 22 million members across 212 countries. As a denomination, we operate one of the largest parochial education and healthcare networks in the world, dedicated to improving the physical, mental, and spiritual quality of human life.
The name "Seventh-day" honors the biblical Sabbath of rest ordained by God at Creation, while "Adventist" points directly to our joyful expectation of the literal Second Advent of Jesus Christ.
