Stewardship Ministries - Stroudsburg SDA Church

Stewardship

Acknowledging God's absolute ownership of our lives by living as faithful, intentional managers of His varied grace.

At the Stroudsburg Seventh-day Adventist Church, stewardship is framed not as a financial fundraising system, but as a deep spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ.

A common misconception limits stewardship strictly to the returning of tithe and offerings on Sabbath morning. In alignment with the global Seventh-day Adventist Stewardship Ministries philosophy, we believe that true stewardship covers the total management of all resources entrusted to us by the Creator. It is an everyday expression of gratitude, faith, and complete trust in God's providential care.

When we surrender every asset of our existence to His guidance, we break free from the stressful grip of materialism and step into a lifestyle of purpose. Stewardship is our practical partnership with the Divine to help advance His kingdom right here in Stroudsburg and across the world.

The 5 T's of Stewardship

  • 1. Time Recognizing that every second is a gift from God. We manage our daily schedules intentionally, prioritizing personal devotion, family connection, meaningful labor, and honoring the sacred boundary of the 24-hour weekly Sabbath rest.
  • 2. Talents Cultivating and utilizing the unique spiritual gifts, natural capabilities, and vocational skills given to us by the Holy Spirit. We use these strengths not for personal vanity, but to build up the church family and cheerfully serve others.
  • 3. Treasure Managing our finances with absolute biblical integrity. This includes faithfully returning God's holy tithe (10% of our increase) and giving systematic freewill offerings to sustain local church operations and advance global mission fields.
  • 4. Temple Caring for our physical bodies as holy sanctuaries of the Holy Spirit. We practice deliberate stewardship over our health by choosing wholesome nutrition, natural movement, sufficient rest, and completely avoiding substances that harm cognitive clarity.
  • 5. Testimony Stewardship of the truth and our personal stories of redemption. We deliberately share the message of Christ’s salvation and the prophetic perspective of the three angels' messages with our neighbors through our words, actions, and daily interactions.

The Blueprint of Trust

The ultimate goal of a faithful steward is to hear those comforting words from the Master: "Well done, good and faithful servant." When we view our time, assets, and health as tools loaned to us by God, our perspective on life shifts from ownership to management.

"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ." — 1 Peter 4:10-11

By ordering our households according to these biblical principles, we ensure our church remains spiritually vibrant and logistically equipped to execute its local gospel calling. We invite every member to discover the joy of putting God first in every area of life.
